Emergency repairs to runway at Leeds Bradford Airport
'Minor repairs' need to happen to the runway, say bosses
Passengers hoping to travel from Leeds Bradford Airport this afternoon (July 5) are being asked to contact your airline.
It's because the runway is closed because of what bosses say is for emergency repairs - and we now know that check-in has also been closed until 'no earlier' than 5pm.
We're told there'll be disruption until at least 7 o'clock tonight.
In a statement, a spokesperson from the airport told us: "The runway is currently closed due to urgent repairs to the runway surface. We expect to open no earlier than 7pm today.
"Check in is currently closed until no earlier than 5pm today.
"We apologise for any disruption and ask that passengers contact their airline for further travel advice. Please also see our website and social media for updates.
"This has not occurred due to an incident - it is a minor repair to the runway surface but needs to be carried out immediately."
