The coronavirus vaccine site at Elland Road in Leeds is set to close today (March 25), after providing more than 460,000 jabs.

It's going to be replaced by a new "roving service" which will open up pop-up centres and clinics across the city.

NHS teams in Leeds say that'll allow them to respond to different patient cohorts, and roll out jabs to 5-11 year-olds next month.

Sam Prince, from the Leeds vaccination programme, said: “Vaccinations are still vitally important to ensure we keep Covid at bay.

"We have been looking at how we can best meet the needs of people who have not yet been vaccinated, as well as delivering the latest recommendations regarding vaccinations for all 5-11 year olds and ‘Spring boosters’ for people at greatest risk from Covid-19."

Ms. Prince also paid tribute to the hard work of all those involved in the Elland Road centre and said they had played a vital role in protecting people.
