Detectives Investigating Leeds Sex Assault Release CCTV Image
Police investigating a serious sexual assault in Leeds say they want to get the attacker 'off the streets as soon as possible'.
Police are appealing for information after a woman was seriously sexually assaulted in Leeds.
It happened on Mark Lane in the early hours of Friday August 14.
Detectives have now put out a CCTV image (pictured right) of a man they want to speak to.
The victim, a 24-year-old woman, was followed by a man who tried to speak to her and then seriously sexually assaulted her.
The suspect is described as a tall Afro-Caribbean male, with a shaved head.
He may also have been carrying a man’s shoulder bag.
Detective Inspector Ian Scott of Leeds District CID, said:
"Police enquiries remain ongoing into what has clearly been a very serious incident and clearly we need identify the man responsible and get him off the streets as quickly as possible.
"We would like to speak with the man pictured and I would ask anyone who has information to contact DC 6736 Gilsenan at Leeds District CID on 101.
"Reports can also be given to the independent Crimestoppers charity, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
