Man charged over death of Daniel Illingworth after Keighley incident

Police have charged a man in connection with the death of a man following an assault in Keighley.

Daniel Illingworth, aged 34, died following an altercation on Bridge Street in Keighley on March 7th.

Investigations have remained ongoing after a suspect was arrested by West Yorkshire Police.

The force have now confirmed that the man has been charged by police on suspicion of causing Illingworth's death.

Joseph Smith, aged 39 and from Carlby Grove, has been charged with manslaughter, and is due to appear before Leeds Magistrates' Court on Saturday (March 15th).

Smith was charged with Illingworth's death in the early hours of the morning and will now be remanded in police custody until the hearing.
