The West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts, which sees six hospital trusts in the region working together, has seen a 60% increase in the number of covid patients they are treating, since last week.
627 people are receiving treatment across our region's hospitals, 32 are in intensive care units.
Last week there was 392 people in hospital with covid.
On the 19th July, when most COVID restrictions were lifted across England, there were a total of 176 COVID-19 patients across the six hospital trusts.
The omicron variant comes at at time when hospitals were already facing their busiest and most challenging winter in history.
The trusts are asking the public to be patient with staff and ensure that you and your family are fully vaccinated.
