There are concerns that pubs and bars in Headingley could suffer financially due to Yorkshire cricket's suspension from hosting international and major games.

England and Wales cricket board suspended major and international matches at Yorkshire- they're due to host England men's test match against New Zealand and South Africa next year and an Ashes test in 2023.

Events held at Yorkshire can bring in thousands of pounds for local hospitality.

Kesh from Munch Café in Headingley said:

"All they had to do was say to Gary, look you're suspended for two weeks, you're fined a couple thousand of pounds, everyone moves on. But now everyone is involved, sponsors are involved, it's going to hit Headingley big time, I mean test matches, what is it they make a day like 1 million pounds?

"Pubs are going to be hit hard, and places at the bottom end will too, Headingley in general will get hit hard.

"We get students, we get builders, but it's more the pubs.

"They should've just handled it straight away. I think they'll be more people coming out of the wood works, and Yorkshire cricket have paid for the price now."
