A cold weather alert has been in place since Friday and will continue until tomorrow (Tuesday 11 February).

It's sparked a severe weather protocol, which entitles homeless people or rough sleepers to emergency accommodation.

However, there's concerns that not every homeless person decides to take up the offer, for one reason or another.

Becky Joyce, the co-founder of Homeless Street Angels in Leeds said: "They have got the St George's crypt option If there are beds available, but a lot of the guys also won't go into the crypt because they think they'll get bullied.

"They're just scared basically because they don't want to mixing with certain people."

Becky is worried the cold weather could be deadly, if people do sleep outside through the night. She said: "We had one guy on the streets and the other night, when he woke up, his sleeve because it was damp the night before, his sleeve had frozen solid.

"These conditions could end up in death, so yeah it's really worrying."
