Elderly community in West Yorkshire among those concerned about more banks closing
There's concern, particularly among older people in West Yorkshire that more banks are due to close on the high street
Lloyds Banking Group is to shut 136 more high street branches as it accelerates plans to cut costs and digitise the bank.
It will close 61 Lloyds, 61 Halifax and 14 Bank of Scotland branches between May this year and March 2026.
Meanwhile, people in West Yorkshire have been reacting to this, with one elderly couple not happy about the news.
Pauline is 79 and her husband, Tony is 85 and is also deaf. Pauline, who is from Horsforth, Leeds explained online banking isn't an option for them: "We've got to go to Leeds tomorrow, because we want to go to Lloyds and we don't have one near.
"We go to Wakefield sometimes, and Harrogate, but then we shouldn't have to travel.
"He's 85, I'm 79 and we shouldn't have to do that, and we don't do internet banking because we are frightened of being scammed."
Lloyds blamed the decision to shut the branches on customers shifting away from banking in person to using mobile services.
A list of the areas the banks are closing hasn't yet been announced.
