Coldplay's Chris Martin surprises customers at Sowerby Bridge pub with impromptu gig
The lead singer played an intimate acoustic set last night
Coldplay's Chris Martin surprised punters at a West Yorkshire pub overnight by playing a secret gig to around 100 people.
The lead singer took to the stage The Puzzle Hall Inn in Sowerby Bridge playing some of the band's most well known songs, alongside a cover of Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me).
Rather than a giant stadium show - Martin had to make do with a small outdoor stage lit with fairy lights.
He revealed to the audience that he'd cycled to the venue and took time to laugh and joke with members of the crowd.
Jeremy Meadowcroft, who was amid the crowd, said "It's was fabulous, you didn't know if he was there for 10 minutes or for 10 hours"
"It was just engaging, very natural, very comfortable... what a truly brilliant performer"
The 48 year old singer songwriter is in Yorkshire ahead of gigs in Hull early next week.
