CCTV Video Released After Sex Attack

Police investigating a sex attack in Leeds have released CCTV footage.

On August 14th around 5am, the 24-year-old victim was followed and approached by a man on Mark Lane. He tried to talk to her before sexually assaulting her. She resisted and managed to escape.

He's describedd as black, aged 30 to 40, tall, with a shaved head. He was wearing a long black overcoat and black trousers.

Detective Inspector John Dexter, of Leeds District CID, said: "We have been carrying out an extensive trawl of CCTV cameras and have identified footage of the suspect walking around the city centre. He presents quite a distinctive figure and we hope that someone will recognise him from these images.

"We believe he may have approached other women in the period leading up to this attack and we would like to hear from anyone who has encountered him.

"The victim has been left badly traumatised by this incident and it is imperative that we identify and arrest this man at the earliest opportunity."
