Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to identify in connection with a road traffic collision in Leeds that left a 4 year old child with serious injuries.

The collision occurred on Copperfield Grove on 2nd October and involved a black Seat Leon and the young pedestrian.

The child suffered serious injuries but was able to leave hospital a day after the collision.

Leeds Roads Policing Unit say they believe the driver did not stop at the time of the collision, and that the man pictured in the CCTV image may have information which could assist with the ongoing investigation.

They say extensive enquiries have been ongoing to identify the driver of the vehicle with officers now asking for the public's assistance.

Anyone who can help identify the male in the image is asked to contact Leeds RPU by calling 101 and quoting 13220543049.
