Calls to people in Bradford to look out for the homeless during the hot spell
With temperatures expecting to reach highs of 37 Celsius, we're being encouraged to look out for signs of heat stroke and dehydration.
Across West Yorkshire there's an amber warning of extreme heat expected for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
David Summerville is a volunteer from Bradford Nightstop, a youth homelessness charity. He told us "the council warn people be on the lookout for people who might be suffering the effects of heat stroke, especially the younger people, I suppose it's not quite so obvious until someone faints"
Well in other parts of England, such as in London, the authority has triggered a severe weather emergency response in the capital to support rough sleepers struggling to stay safe in soaring temperatures. They will be providing sunscreen and water to rough sleepers.
Meanwhile, volunteer David said: "If it continues to be dry then people do need access to water somewhere to drink, I'd be hard put to think places where you can drink fresh water in Bradford without actually going into a café or a pub or something.
"So it might be worth thinking about bringing back public drinking fountains".
We've reached out to Bradford Council to find out what plans they have in place to support the vulnerable people. We're yet to receive a response.
