Building evacuated in Leeds city centre after reports of suspicious package

Emergency services are carrying out precautionary checks

A building has been evacuated in Leeds city centre after reports of a suspicious package.

Emergency services are at the scene as precautionary checks are done.

In a statement West Yorkshire Police said: "At 8.13 am today, police were called to a report of a potentially suspicious package that had been delivered to a building in Wellington Place, Leeds.  

"The building has been evacuated whilst emergency services carry out precautionary checks. "
