Dr Yvette Oade, the NHS region’s clinical lead for the Covid-19 vaccination programme, said:

“It’s been a fantastic weekend for the vaccination programme, with NHS staff working tirelessly to get as many people as possible protected from the virus.

"Supported by dedicated volunteers they are rising to the regional and national mission of getting as many jabs into people’s arms as possible over the festive season.

“Behind our region’s latest vaccination milestone of 16.4 million Covid-19 doses is an exceptional effort by NHS staff and volunteers at vaccine sites in hospital hubs, pharmacies, GP-led clinics and pop-up locations such as shopping centres."
