Households in Baildon are told to boil their tap water

Yorkshire Water says tests show it's not up to their 'usual high standards'

BD17 5 residents have been issued a boil order notice from Yorkshire Water

Some routine tests have shown that the supply to some streets in BD17 5 doesn't meet the water company's 'usual high standards'. Customers are being asked to boil their water until further notice. Here is the list of affected streets.

Teams will be in the area today (22 May) to work on the water network. During this time, customers may experience periods of low water pressure.

Boil all tap water for:

Drinking

Cleaning teeth

Preparing foods which will be eaten uncooked (such as salads)

Tap water should be boiled for a few seconds and stored in clean, covered containers in a cool place for a maximum of 24 hours.

Water for babies’ feeds should be boiled (and allowed to cool) immediately before use.

Boiling is sufficient protection, there is no need to use bottled water.

Washing

Bathing

Toilet flushing

Washing dishes

Washing clothes
