Man critically injured after being hit by car in Batley
Police are appealing for witnesses after pedestrian suffers serious head injuries
An elderly man has been left with critical head injuries after being hit by a car in Batley.
The incident occurred at 6.37pm last night (December 9) at the crossing near the junction with Hick Lane on Bradford Road.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition.
Police confirmed the driver of a Toyota Yaris stopped at the scene and is assisting with their enquiries.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw the movements of the vehicle prior to the collision or who witnessed the event itself.
