Batley Bulldogs could find themselves with West Yorkshire derby opponents like Leeds Rhinos, Huddersfield Giants, Wakefield Trinity and Castleford Tigers next season - IF they get a win in their last match of the season today.

This evening they face Leigh Centurions in the Million Pound Game, the final of the play-offs in rugby league's second tier, which decides who will get the lucrative move-up to Super League next season.

But they know it's not going to be easy as tonight's opponents have dominated the Championship this year and finished top of the table, Bulldogs Chief Executive Paul Harrison told us: "The Leigh team are absolutely outstanding from the chairman right down to the players.

"They've shown us nothing but respect and for us to get the final, with the budget we spend, it's like a fairy-tale I've told a few people, but fairy tales sometimes have really good endings."

The Bulldogs made the grand final after a thrilling 32-28 victory over Featherstone Rovers in the play-off semi-final lat weekend.

Paul continued and said: "We would probably keep with the team we've got if we got there, I know that's a big if but if we did, because as we are we're part time at the moment."

The game kicks off today (Sunday 2 October) at 6.30pm at Leigh Sports Village.
