Gary Barlow and Tim Firth say they're looking for a 'proper Northerner' to act in their show.

‘The Girls’ opens in November – with the premier being held here in Leeds.

Based on Calendar Girls, they’re looking for a 17-year-old to play to play the son of Miss September, called Tommo, who's described as ‘a great lad, a sportsman, good looking and girl mad’.

Gary and Tim said, "We want a proper Northerner to play this role and where better to look than Leeds and Manchester where there is such an enormous wealth of talent - best of luck lads!"

It’s based on a true story in a Yorkshire village, about a group of ladies (pictured above) who decide to appear nude for a Women’s Institue calendar. They do it to raise funds to buy a settee for their local hospital in memory of one of their husbands.

Hopeful stars will be able to audition at Leeds Grand Theatre on the 17th June. It’ll be filmed for Gary and Tim to watch to pick actors for a second audition.
