Bradford City have announced the deadline-day signing of Portsmouth central defender Tom McIntyre on loan.

The 26 year old is due to remain at Valley Parade for the rest of the season.

He has made over 100 appearances in the second tier, mostly for Reading. He has also spent time at Charlton and is a Scotland youth international.

Speaking to the City website, McIntyre said: “When Bradford City came calling, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of. It is a massive club with great history and an unbelievable fanbase too.

“I cannot wait to pull on the shirt and give my all for the club. Up the Bantams!”

Elsewhere, striker Tyler Smith has been released by the Bantams by mutual consent.
