Armed robbery at Boots store in Kirkstall prompts investigation

Detectives are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a Boots store in Leeds.

At 6.27pm last night, police received reports of the incident at the store in Savins Mill Way, Kirkstall.

Five masked suspects arrived at the scene in two cars. While one waited outside brandishing a knife, four males, armed with weapons including metal bars, entered the shop and smashed perfume cabinets.

They loaded a large quantity into builders bags and drove off.

Detective Inspector Mick Herbert, of Leeds District CID, said: “The store was open at the and this was obviously a distressing experience for staff and for the members of the public that witnessed the incident.

“We are carrying out extensive enquiries to identify those involved and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation.”

Officers are considering if there is any link to a similar robbery at the Boots store at Crown Point Retail Park on December 8.
