Armed police called to reports of disturbance in Pudsey

A 16-year-old boy's been arrested after armed police were called to reports of a disturbance in Pudsey yesterday (30th August 2021).

Officers received reports of a group of youths involved in the incident, with reports of a machete, at 5.18pm.

Police found a 15-year-old boy nearby with a serious knife injury to his elbow.

He was taken to hospital, although his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

In a statement, West Yorkshire Police added: 'A 16-year-old male was subsequently arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent in relation to the incident.

'He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing.

'Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Leeds District CID via 101 quoting crime reference 13210440148 or online via www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat

'Information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.'
