Staff at Airedale Hospital say they've secured better pay and conditions in fresh talks following strike action.

Porters, caterers and cleaners who are part of the GMB union are in an ongoing dispute with employed AGH Solutions, a subsidiary of Airedale NHS Trust.

They now claim to have secured a number of improvements in conditions from November, including better sick pay, annual leave and weekend wages.

It follows talks with AGH Solutions.

However their dispute remains ongoing - as they claim conditions still fall short of those offered by the NHS.

Joe Wheatley, GMB Organiser, said: "This is a fantastic win for Airedale workers and a crucial first step towards full NHS alignment, but the fight isn’t over yet.

"The Trust and AGH Solutions must recognise the right of our members to a decent retirement that reflects their commitment to serving the community within our NHS.

"GMB remain positive about upcoming negotiations, but members will not settle for anything less than a proposal that ends with full alignment to the NHS pension."
