In the early hours of this morning, armed officers executed search warrants at two addresses – one in Bismarck Street, Beeston, and one in Marshall Close, Morley.
The warrants were part of an ongoing investigation into an incident in Woodview Terrace, Beeston, on Saturday evening where a gun was fired at a car by suspects on a motorbike, in what is believed to have been a targeted attack.
A 23-year-old man was arrested at the address in Morley on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.
Scenes are in place at both addresses to undergo forensic examination and specialist searches.
At about 2.30pm yesterday, armed officers, supported by a National Police Air Service helicopter, executed a search warrant at an address in Northcote Drive, Beeston, as part of the same investigation.
Two motorbikes, which were confirmed as stolen, were recovered. A man was arrested on suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods offences in relation to the motorbikes.
Neither bike was found to be the one used in the incident in Woodview Terrace and officers are appealing for any information that could assist in the recovery of that vehicle, which is described as a red and white off-road style motorcycle.
Detectives from West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are continuing to progress the investigation into the firearm discharge.
