To celebrate Chris Martin's 40th birthday Coldplay have released a new single called 'Hypnotised'.

Described by the band's frontman as "a new non-single from the EP", 'Hypnotised' is a dreamlike ballad which will be featured on the Coldplay's upcoming EP 'Kaleidoscope' due out later this year.

The lyric video, which has also been released, was directed by Mary Wigmore, no stranger to Coldplay's music videos having directed videos for 'Midnight' and 'The Hardest Part'.

Taking influences from the name of the EP, the video includes scenes of forests, the ocean and birds as if looking through a kaleidoscope.

'Kaleidoscope' will be released on 2nd June and will include five songs in total including their collaboration with The Chainsmokers 'Something Just Like This'.

Coldplay surprised fans last week at The BRITs performing the unexpected collaboration with the American DJ duo, resulting in another Top 10 hit for the band.
