There was a collective sigh of relief when, last year, a sequel to Love Actually was aired. The sequel saw writer Richard Curtis reunite Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth and Keira Knightley amongst others for the short film.

And he's only gone and done it again, as it's now been CONFIRMED that Hugh Grant will once again star as the lovesick Charles in One Red Nose Day And A Wedding, set to air in March 2019.

With director Mike Newell returning as well, Richard has confirmed which of the original cast will be reprising their roles, and said, "Weā€™re all definitely older ā€“ I suspect no wiser. Itā€™s been really enjoyable working out whatā€™s happened to all the characters ā€“ and now they get back together for the 5th wedding. Where, as usual, not everything will go as planned."

Four Weddings And A Funeral sequel: Which actors will be reprising their roles?

Kristin Scott Thomas as Fiona and Hugh Grant as Charles

Kristin Scott Thomas and Hugh Grant will reunite to reprise their roles of Fiona and Charles. Fiona spent the original film in love with Charles, as he avoided Duckface and chased Carrie.

Kristin has continued to appear in huge films and TV shows, most recently portraying Winston Churchill's wife Clementine in Darkest Hour opposite Gary Oldman. Hugh starred in TV series A Very English Scandal opposite Ben Whishaw this year.

Anna Chancellor as Duckface (Henrietta)

Anna Chancellor will reprise her role as Charles' almost-wife, Henrietta - fondly known to the other characters as Duckface. Although she managed to get Charles down the aisle, he couldn't go through with it, and went to find Carrie. Henrietta later married a military officer.

Since appearing in the film, Anna has appeared in plenty of critically acclaimed TV shows and films - most recently, the smash hit The Crown as Lady Rosse.

Andie MacDowell as Carrie

Andie MacDowell will be returning to the cast as Carrie, who won Charles' heart away from Duckface and Fiona.

Andie has continued to act in TV shows and movies, and appeared in the Magic Mike film series as Nancy.

David Bower as David, Charlotte Coleman as Scarlett and James Fleet as Tom

David and James will be reprising their roles for the sequel as Charles' deaf brother David and Fiona's brother Tom.

Since appearing in the film, David has mostly worked on radio dramas and James has rarely been off the small screen, starring in plenty of TV dramas. Charlotte sadly passed away in 2001 of an asthma attack.

Rowan Atkinson as Father Gerald

Thankfully, Rowan Atkinson will be reprising his role as the gibbering priest who struggled to say the names of Bernard and Lydia at their wedding in the film.

Of course, Rowan is one of the most well-known actors in the world, and has recently enjoyed success in Johnny English Strikes Again.

Sophie Thompson as Lydia and David Haig as Bernard

Sophie Thompson and David Haig will be reprising their roles as Lydia and Bernard, who are the subject of one of the eponymous weddings, and took part in the HILARIOUS post-wedding scene which saw them consummate their nuptials... With Charles stuck in the wardrobe.

Sophie will be best known among soap fans as evil Stella from EastEnders, who tortured Ben Mitchell before marrying his dad Phil, ultimately ending up falling off a roof and splatting on the roof of a car below. David was in The Thick Of It, and recently starred in the fantastic TV series Killing Eve.

Simon Callow as Gareth and John Hannah as Matthew

Of course, the eponymous funeral was that of poor Gareth, who had a heart attack at Carrie's wedding to Hamish, so he will not be appearing. However, John Hannah is signed on to reprise his role as Matthew.

Simon has continued to act in high profile films such as Victoria & Abdul and Viceroy's House, as well as a prolific TV career. John Hannah will be known for his recent roles in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.

The short film will also star Robin McCaffrey as Serena, Rupert Vansittart as George, Simon Kunz as John 'with the Unfaithful Wife', Sara Crowe as Laura the Bride and Timothy Walker as Angus the Groom, all from the first wedding.
