Fans were left delighted last year when popular ice skating show Dancing On Ice returned to ITV with hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. After reality TV star Jake Quickenden was crowned the winner, it was revealed that the show will be returning for another series in 2019.

With the end of 2018 fast-approaching, rumours about which celebrities will take part in the new series are heating up, with both TOWIE's Gemma Collins and Love Island's Wes Nelson favourites to join the line-up.

After being a massive hit with viewers when he appeared on the 2018 series of Love Island, Dancing On Ice bosses want Wes Nelson on the show.

Dancing On Ice bosses teased the brand new series on their social media pages recently. Sharing a short video of a female getting her makeup put on, the caption read, '12 new celebs and a LOT of sparkle. #DancingOnIce prep is well underway, but who's in the make-up chair...? 🤔✨'. sic

Bosses then shared another video of a muscly male holding a piece of ice in his hand. The caption read, 'Now, now, ladies. Eyes on the ice, please. #DancingOnIce'. sic

There have been a total of 10 winners of Dancing On Ice to date. Emmerdale actress Gaynor Faye was the very first winner back in 2006, with former star of The X Factor Ray Quinn winning the 2014 All Stars series, after beating the likes of Hayley Tamaddon and Beth Tweddle.

Other winners of the show include Suzanne Shaw, Matthew Wolfenden, Sam Attwater and Kyran Bracken and last year's winner Jake Quickenden.

Despite acting as mentors for the first nine series, Olympic legends Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean appeared on the judging panel last year, alongside Jason Gardiner and Diversity founder Ashley Banjo.

Although nothing has been confirmed yet, the judging panel is expected to remain the same for the 2019 series, which is due to begin in January 2019.
