Coronation Street spoilers: Tim Metcalfe makes a grand gesture of love

Sally might have her own problems to deal with outside, but urges Abi to stay clean. She needs to regain Seb's trust.

Kate's plans to have a baby with Robert fall flat after Imran spills the beans and Rana admits she doesn't want a baby at all.

Kate drops into Adam's office, explaining her deal with Robert is off. But she sees him with new eyes as she watches him pour a consolatory scotch and, mind whirling, seduces him into kissing her passionately. If Robert won't help, maybe Adam will.

But nothing stays quiet for long, and when Ayla tells Rana that Imran told her that he saw Kate kissing Adam, Rana confronts Kate, and tells her their relationship is over.

Evelyn and Roy spend the whole night searching for Cerberus, waking up to a police officer rapping on the window of Roy's car. He accuses them of engaging in lewd conduct, but lets them off with a warning.

Later, continuing their search, Tyrone, Evelyn and Roy spot a man walking Cerberus and follow him home. But when they confront him, he laughs in Evelyn's face, telling her she has no way of proving it's her dog.

Evelyn resolves not to give up. Under cover of darkness the three of them break into the dognappers garden – but he catches them, and calls the police.

Jenny is suspicious when Johnny leaves abruptly for 'an appointment', and, tracking them on the app, sees that he and Liz are together.

But Jenny doesn't know the full story. Liz had called Johnny begging for a lift to the police station after news of Jim and Hannah and he reluctantly agreed. But Jenny isn't having any of it, lying that she saw them drive off together.

Jenny is at her wits end, and copes by hitting the bottle. Knocking back the wine and tracking Liz's movements on her app, Jenny accidentally smacks herself in the face on a cupboard door. Johnny's shocked by Jenny's black eye and Gemma is suspicious.

Meanwhile, Jim and Hannah have been released without charge, and Jenny tries to stir the pot by 'gently' suggesting that Johnny go with Liz to the station. Gemma can't ignore the tension between them.

The bad feeling escalates, with Jenny furious over Johnny's sympathy for Liz. But suddenly, Jenny loses her footing on the landing and falls down the stairs, hitting her head hard.

Brian's Christmas show is fast approaching, and under mounting pressure from Phil Brian loses his temper when Jack forgets his lines.

Feeing awful, Brian offers to help Jack with his lines to make it up for shouting at him.

Later, Brian is sent home by Phil for exhaustion, but after drowning his sorrows at the Rover's Inn decides that he has every right to watch his play.

He sneaks into the back of the auditorium with Cathy, and it's not long before the kids notice him and call him up on stage.

But, seething with envy at the attention Brian is getting as he takes his bow, Phil hitches Brian's belt to the Angel Gabriel's harness and hoists him in the air.

Back from Archie's funeral, Audrey explains to Rita, Nick and Lewis that Archie had left her some money.

When she reveals it's £80,000, Lewis is eager to prove he's not after her money.

Dropping by No.4, Sophie is surprised and not all together pleased to see the cosy set up Tim and Gina have going on.

Paula has rejected the idea for an appeal and her bill is already enormous. Sophie suggests that Tim sell his half of Number 4 to pay it, but he refuses.

Sophie visits Sally and tells her that Tim is refusing to sell up, and warning him that if he doesn't, the lawyers will come after No.4.

But Tim is adamant that the whole sorry mess is all Sally's fault anyway – he's already sold No. 4 on.

Meanwhile, Tim has asked Gina to move in with him and Faye. Tim throws a Street Car Christmas party for Eileen, Steve and Tracy at the Bistro.

Emotionally drained, Tim hits the beer hard. Drunk and upset, he declares that as Sally did the dirty, he should too. Gina's there to lend to a shoulder.

It's not long before he's asked to leave the Bistro and, climbing up onto the fire escape, begins drunkenly singing Christmas carols.

The rest of the party watch from below, before Gina climbs up to bring him down. An emotional Tim admits he misses Sally but back at No.4, a maudlin Tim thanks Gina for being there and plants a kiss on her.

Abi is torn when prison dealer Marcia offers Abi some smuggled drugs, but Sally catches the exchange and drags Abi away.
