Yesterday we heard the exciting news that Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle had got engaged, and of course messages of congratulations were coming in from far and wide. However, there was one message that stood out for us.
The message came from Meghan's on-screen fiancé Patrick J. Adams from the TV series Suits, that Meghan has starred in for six years. His tweet took a tongue-in-cheek look at the couple's announcement and said, 'She said she was just going out to get some milk...' retweeting the announcement of their engagement from Kensington Palace.
Patrick's reaction was an instant hit with his fans and his tweet has been retweeted 120,000 times and liked 300,000 times at the time of writing.
A few hours later Patrick, who plays Mike Ross in Suits, then took to Twitter again to congratulate his on-screen partner. He said he knew she and Prince Harry would have a long life together that 'will be joyful, productive and hilarious'.
Meghan's on-screen dad also tweeted his congratulations referring to his character and saying, 'Harry you have her TV Father’s blessing. Robert Zane approves'.
Yesterday it was announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be getting married in the Spring of 2018. Messages of congratulations immediately came in from Prince Harry's brother and sister-in-law, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who said they were 'very excited for Harry and Megan'.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh also said they were 'delighted for the couple and wish them every happiness.'
After the announcement of their engagement Prince Harry and Meghan posed for photos in the Sunken Gardens, in the Kensington Palace grounds, a favourite location of Prince Harry's late mother Diana, Princess of Wales.
At the photoshoot the couple showed off the beautiful ring that was designed by Prince Harry himself. It features three diamonds, the central diamond was from Botswana, where the couple had spent some time together and "camped out with each other under the stars together" according to an interview shown last night. The two diamonds either side are from Princess Diana's personal collection.
