Matthew McConaughey Receives Star on Walk of Fame – PICTURES
Anne Hathaway & Jessica Chastain attend the Hollywood ceremony
Matthew McConaughey has become the 2,534th celebrity to be immortalised with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Wearing a dapper grey three-piece suit, the actor was joined at the unveiling on Monday by his gorgeous family – wife Camila Alves and children Levi (6), Vida (4) and Livingston (2).
Also present at the ceremony were Matthew’s Interstellar co-stars Anne Hathaway, Mackenzie Foy and Jessica Chastain plus director Christopher Nolan, and Don Phillips who cast Matthew in his debut movie, Dazed and Confused, back in 1993.
45-year-old Matthew told the crowd in his trademark Texan accent: “I got my name…on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. There’s a song in there somewhere.”
Speaking about his profession, Matthew said: “I feel like it’s a privilege every single day that I get to get up on a Monday morning. I have a career where I look forward to Monday morning, to going to work.”
Although he refused to call the star the highlight of his career so far, he admitted it was definitely “a good point.”

One of the biggest and most epic movies of the year, Interstellar is at cinema screens right now.
Earlier this year McConaughey won the Best Actor Oscar for his role as AIDs patient Ron Woodroof in Dallas Buyers Club.
He also won multiple accolades for his performance as Detective ‘Rust’ Cohle in critically lauded HBO show True Detective.
