Gwyneth Paltrow reveals her unusual way to keep looking good
The actress is embracing her 40s.
Gwyneth Paltrow is known for trying different types of beauty treatments and has revealed in a recent interview that she has tried one particularly painful one.
The Shakespeare in Love actress who is now 43 told the New York Times that she is "always the guinea pig" keen to "try everything".
One of the most unusual treatments she has used is being stung by bees! In the interview she said, "I’ve been stung by bees. It’s a thousands of years old treatment called apitherapy."
The actress went on to say, "People use it to get rid of inflammation and scarring. It’s actually pretty incredible if you research it. But, man, it’s painful."
Apitherapy is an alternative medicine that uses honey bees' products such as bee venom.
Now in her 40s Gwyneth is embracing her age telling PeopleStyle, "I was a mess in my 20s! I would never want to go back. I’m so thankful to be where I am.”
She described her 40s as 'incredible' and even admitted, "I feel more beautiful now than I did 10 years ago or 20 years ago.”
Gwyneth has recently launched her own beauty range called goop by Juice Beauty of which she is the Creative Director. Using totally organic techniques goop is an extension of her existing weekly newsletter where 'food, shopping, and mindfulness collide' founded in 2008.
Gwyneth will be reprising her role as Pepper Potts in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War film due out later this month.
