Sir Elton John announces his 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour'

Legendary pop star, Elton John, made an announcement via a live stream yesterday (24th January), revealing his plans for the future.
In the announcement he revealed that he would be retiring from touring, with a 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour' which would last for three years. The singer said his "priorities have changed" as he now as a family and he would like to "go out with a bang".
Elton's mammoth three year tour will take in a huge 300 dates, which he said would allow him "to say thank you to all my fans around the world and then to say goodbye."
During the live stream, Elton's website struggled to cope with the amount of visitors and the singer later addressed the problem on Twitter saying, 'I’m overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response to my last ever tour. Unfortunately, so is my website! http://eltonjohn.com will be fully back online as soon as possible. Deeply sorry for any inconvenience caused.'

He has had a massive career spanning over five decades, and sold many millions of records around the world. Last year the 70-year-old singer was forced to cancel nine of his shows after he contracted a bacterial infection, however after spending two nights in intensive care, and 12 days in hospital, he has since recovered and performed a huge 87 shows in 2017.
Sir Elton has also continued to be very busy, and in addition to performing around the world, he has appeared in the film Kingsman: The Golden Circle last year, and he is working on Disney's live-action version of The Lion King.
He is also due to perform with Miley Cyrus at this year's GRAMMYs which will take place on Sunday in the USA.
