Eggheads star CJ de Mooi arrested in connection with a murder
He appeared on the TV programme between 2004 and 2012
Former Eggheads star CJ de Mooi has been arrested in connection with a murder believed to have happened nearly 30 years ago.
CJ, who appeared on the TV quiz programme between 2004 and 2012 was detained under a European arrest warrant at Heathrow Airport on Wednesday.
The alleged killing happened in 1988 after a man approached CJ with a knife in the Dutch capital Amsterdam. CJ responded by punching the man and throwing him into a canal.
In his autobiography CJ wrote, "I grabbed the knife, tossed it into the water and started to thump him.
"My assault continued until I half-punched, half-pushed him into the canal."
CJ de Mooi, was detained under his real name Joseph Connagh and will appear at London's Westminster Magistrates' Court later.
