Ed Sheeran lands acting role in “gruesome” medieval TV show
A rival to Game of Thrones?
The ridiculously talented Ed Sheeran has landed an acting role in an upcoming new TV show.
Ed, who reportedly wanted a cameo in HBO fantasy Game of Thrones, has been snapped up for a different show that he describes as “dark” and “gruesome.”
Without giving away too much, Ed said: "I have an acting job coming out after July. I can't say too much about it because the pilot just got picked up, which is good, but it's a TV show.”
“It’s a medieval TV show and it’s really, really dark. It’s gruesome and it’s going to be fine because my friend wrote it,” Ed continued to the Daily Mirror.
“He had a musician in his last show and I said, ‘Oh did he audition for that? And he said ‘No, but I just thought he would be good in it.’ So I said, ‘Can you put me in your show next?’”
The as-yet-unannounced TV show isn't Ed's first foray into acting. Earlier this year he made a brief appearance in long-running Australian soap 'Home & Away.'
A well-connected guy, Ed counts Friends stars Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox as his close mates.
Ed plays three completely and utterly sold-out shows at London’s Wembley Stadium this weekend.
