To celebrate the natural phenomenon of a total solar eclipse next week, 80s pop star Bonnie Tyler will be singing her 1983 hit 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' during the event.
Holiday-makers on a cruise liner will be treated to the unusual alignment of music and nature on the 21st August, when parts of the world will be temporarily be plunged into darkness, as the moon moves in front of the sun for a few minutes.
Royal Caribbean announced their 'Total Eclipse Cruise' some time ago, however details of their major headliner have not been revealed until now. Talking to Time magazine the Welsh singer said, "It’s going to be so exciting. It doesn't happen very often, does it?"
The Oasis of the Seas will be leaving from Orlando on the 20th August before sailing into the optimal location to view the eclipse a day later, continuing on to Phillipsburg, St. Maarten; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, and Nassau, Bahamas.
'Total Eclipse of the Heart' remains Bonnie's most successful song having reached the top spot around the world including in the UK and USA, at one point selling 60,000 copies a day! In 1983 it also won 'best single' from the Variety Club in the UK.
