Eurythmics star becomes a university chancellor

Eurythmics and The Tourists music icon, Annie Lennox has been announced as the new chancellor of a Scottish university. The singer has now become the first female chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University.
And the university recently tweeted their congratulations on the appointment saying, 'Congratulations to our new Chancellor @annielennox from everyone here at Glasgow Caledonian University. #GCUAnnieLennox #commongood 🎓'.
Fans of the singer were also quick to wish Annie well in her new position saying, 'Brillant!⭐️⭐️⭐️🌹', 'Well done and much deserved! xx' and 'Congratulations @AnnieLennox! I would love one day if I'll have the opportunity to come to GCU to hear an amazing lesson from this amazing Chancellor! Congratulations again!'.
The university also shared photos of Annie wearing her cap and gown during the ceremony.
The 'Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)' singer also took to social media herself to share a board with a photo of herself saying, 'Honoured and awed beyond measure to be inducted as Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University today!'.
Billboard report that while Annie has never earned a degree, she could be considered “an honorary graduate from the school of life.”
The 'Thorn In My Side' singer takes over the position from Nobel Peace Prize winner Professor Muhammad Yunus.
Annie Lennox had her big breakthrough in the 1980s as one of the Eurythmics, alongside David A. Stewart, both of who were also in band, The Tourists, beforehand. As the Eurythmics they had huge hits such as 'Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)', 'There Must Be an Angel (Playing with My Heart)' and 'Thorn in My Side'.
