Man dies after being stabbed in Wisbech

A murder investigation has been opened

A man who was stabbed in Wisbech earlier this week has died in hospital.

Tom Lewis, of Larksfield in the town, was allegedly stabbed in the leg in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The 23-year-old was airlifted to Addenbrooke's hospital on Tuesday to undergo surgery to his leg.

He was placed on life-support in intensive care but was pronounced dead at 1.17pm today after a decision was made to end his life-support treatment.

A murder investigation has now been opened by Cambridgeshire Police.

Three men, one aged 22 and two aged 32, are currently in custody in connection with the stabbing which took place in Norwich Road just after 1am on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old was arrested in Peterborough yesterday morning. The 32-year-olds were arrested in Kings Lynn in the early hours of this morning.
