Police confirm incident in Wisbech was NOT a stabbing

They were called on Saturday night

Police have confirmed an assault in Wisbech on Saturday night was not a stabbing.

They were called at 8.45pm to the market place, near NatWest, after it was initially reported somebody had been stabbed.

The area was closed to the public while Fenland Police carried out investigations, but officers have now confirmed that there had been no reports of a stabbing.

One person was treated by paramedics and taken to Peterborough City Hospital.

Police want to speak to anyone who was in the market place or Little Church Street areas.

Anyone who has information is asked to contact them by calling 101, quoting incident 428 of 05/09/20.
