Big screens planned to show Coronation in King's Lynn and Hunstanton
It comes after plans were announced for Norwich yesterday
It's been announced big screens will be set up in both King's Lynn and Hunstanton next month to allow people to watch the Coronation of King Charles III.
The Green in Hunstanton and King’s Staithe Square in King’s Lynn will host the screens, alongside other activities to mark the once in a lifetime event.
In Downham Market a series of events, including music and a picnic, are being organised by the Town Council for May 6. Fairground rides and an escape room will also be on offer.
Councillor Lesley Bambridge, Mayor of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, said: “I’m looking forward to a great opportunity to celebrate with friends and family."
"Residents can watch the historic moment together on the big screens that we’re putting up in Hunstanton and King’s Lynn. Afterwards the celebrations can begin.
“We’re hoping for a sunny Bank Holiday weekend with lots for people to enjoy across west Norfolk.”
Around £12,000 has been distributed by West Norfolk Council to 60 parish councils and community groups across the borough to pay for things like commemorative benches and gardens.
It was announced yesterday that Norwich's Chapelfield Gardens will also show the Coronation on a big screen.
Similar screenings are already planned in Attleborough, Dereham, Thetford, Swaffham and Watton.
