The pandemic strikes again

There'll be no Wells Carnival this year.

Because of the ongoing pandemic, and uncertainty around restrictions being lifted, organisers have decided to postpone until next year.

A spokesperson said:

"We have decided, as the COVID-19 pandemic is ongoing, constantly changing, and the coming months are still dependant on factors outside of our control, it would be in the best interest of Wells, our Crew members & Friends of Carnival to postpone until 2022.

This isn’t a decision we have taken lightly but we do wish to reassure the town of Wells-next-the-Sea, and all our loyal carnival fans, that we ALL cannot wait to be back in 2022 - all singing, all dancing and with magnificent bells on!"
