One of Norfolk's farmers is telling us it's vital more young skilled people get involved in the agricultural sector

A third of people say they'd consider going into farming, according to a survey, despite a quarter thinking you need to be born into it

"We do that to get the best environmental gains from these features as possible"

Paul Wortley lives and works in Methwold, near Thetford.

He is one of those who's opening his farm to the public today, on the 19th Open Farm Sunday.

The day is designed to help connect the public with farming and dispel many myths that continue to persist about the industry.

"Farming has certainly become cooler in the last 5 to 10 years ago, I would say.

"I have noticed that people have become more interested in joining organisations like 'Young Farmers' and 'Countrysiders'.

"It's great, as these organisations do a good job of showcasing farming".

Paul told us about some of the work he's doing to benefit the planet

"We have got margins around our fields, we manage woodland, hedges and other areas in the most sustainable way possible.

"We do that to get the best environmental gains from these features as possible".
