Tributes paid to 'selfless' man who died after Loddon assault

The family of a man who died following a serious assault in Loddon over the weekend have released a tribute to the "kind, happy, and selfless man".
Neil McGibbon, who was in his 50s, was seriously injured on Bridge Street near to the Kings Head pub at around 9:30pm last Friday (November 10).
He passed away in hospital on Monday (November 13).
Paying tribute, Neil's family wrote: “Neil was a beloved son, brother, husband, father and friend."
"He was a proud Scotsman and Celtic fan who played a hugely influential role in his son’s life; who shared his father’s love of football and golf.
"He had an extraordinarily large circle of friends and family in England, Scotland and overseas, and was universally loved by all.
"Neil was a kind, happy, and selfless man, who always did everything he could to help others and lived his life to the fullest.
"We are heartbroken by his loss and ask that his and his family’s privacy be respected at this difficult time.
"Should anyone possess any information that may assist the police in their investigation, we urge them to come forward.”
A formal inquest into Neil's death is tet to take place.
Five men, all in their 20s, were arrested on Friday on suspicion of GBH, while a sixth man, in his 50s has been questioned on suspicion of assault.
All have been released on bail until February. Anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage which may help police is being urged to call 101.
