Tour manager from Norfolk says Oasis reunion likely to be 'short-term'
The Manchester rock group broke up in August 2009 and announced they'd be reuniting on Tuesday
A tour manager who's based in Norwich is telling us he doesn't think that Oasis will stay together beyond a couple of years- despite Tuesday's historic announcement.
Tickets for the Oasis tour since 2009, go on sale from 9am. With the Gallagher brothers playing in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin, next summer.
"I can imagine that conversations have been going on since the start of June"
Jon Luton has worked with Scouting For Girls, Wet Wet Wet and Sophie Ellis-Bextor:
"People have been talking about this since they broke up 15 years old. It was more of a when it would happen vs an 'if'. It was interesting that they didn't re-united for the 30th anniversary of 'Definitely Maybe'
"From a promoters point of view and them putting the show together- it would have taken a couple of months to lock everything down before you're ready to announce something. So I can imagine that conversations have been going on since the start of June".
More shows to come:
Noel Gallagher posted on X, formerly Twitter on Thursday that "due to unprecedented demand", shows in Heaton Park, on July 16, Wembley on July 30 and Murrayfield Stadium on August 12 had been added.
Fans have been urging the brothers to regroup since they disbanded, a split prompted by a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.
Noel, 57, quit the Manchester rock group on August 28 2009, saying he "simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer", and the brothers have made negative comments about each other for more than a decade.
Though fans have been positive about a reunion, concerns have been raised about high ticket prices and accommodation, and the prospect of Liam and Noel having another falling out.
