Thursford Christmas Spectacular not raising ticket prices, despite high energy prices

Those running the Thursford Christmas Spectacular say they're not going to raise ticket prices- despite energy bills remaining eye-wateringly high.

"We're having to persuade people more and more to part with their money"
George Cushing is Associate Producer at Thursford:
"Today, there'll be about 50 coaches that will come onto the site, today.
"They come from all over the UK, like Wales and Newcastle yesterday, for example. So they have to stay over the night and eat somewhere".
"A lot of businesses would possibly shut at Christmas, if it wasn't for the traffic that the show brings.
"People are struggling and we're having to persuade people more and more to part with their money.
"We have also seen that more people are leaving it later and booking at the last minute to see the show"
"We want people to come and escape for three hours"
"We haven't put that energy costs back onto the customers. People at the show will hear at the start, 'leave all your troubles at the door'.
"We want people to come and escape for three hours and lose themselves in Thursford and this place.
"We are 120 in the cast and 32 in the Orchestra. While most people in theatre are cutting their numbers, we're keeping ours stagnant on our 32.
"To see them all on stage is one thing, I can't think another place in Europe that has that many people on stage at a time".
