"Everything was great about them, they were very polite boys"

Darren Iles works at the town's club, where brothers Domingos and Afonso played:

"They were very much part of the community. The boys always took part in what we were doing at the club.

"They always turned up to training, played every mid-week game and their attitude was great. Everything was great about them, they were very polite boys.

He told us how this all came about

"We spoke to the family and asked them what they wanted to do to remember the family. We also spoke with a few of the players who used to play with them at Thetford bulldogs and some of those at Thetford Town.

"What do we do best as a football club? That's play football".

What happened?

Domingos Serrano, 55, Maria Serrano, 51, and their twin sons Domingos and Afonso, both 20, died when the car they were travelling in collided with another vehicle in Castro Verde, southern Portugal, according to the Municipal Council for Mourao.

This happened on the 10th of August.

Two other people died in the crash - the 19-year-old girlfriend of one of the sons, and the 26-year-old driver of the other car, its statement added.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Municipal Council for Mourao said: "In the car there were four occupants, of Mouranese nature, and a young woman with affinity to the family.

"Residents in England, follow from Faro to Mourão, for the usual and deserved vacation.

"It is with great regret that the Municipality announces this information, offering its condolences to the families and friends of the victims."
