A Tennis club in Norfolk is telling us that the grassroots sport is still "looking very healthy" in county
Wimbledon is well underway with the Round of 16 getting underway in both the men's and women's singles
The national governing body, the Lawn Tennis Association has found a recent surge in participation, with it increasing by almost a half since last year, across the country.
"We're encouraged by what we are seeing here"
Chris Mitchell is the chair of Cringleford Tennis Club:
"As a club, all we can do is make sure we are available and open to new members. New Members- of all standards- are welcome here.
"We've got good facilities, plenty of teams, internal club competitions and we have social events.
"We saw quite a rise after Covid. I think that was down to the fact that a lot of people wanted to get outside and play sport again.
"We have seen a small drop off since then, but I think that has plateaued and we're encouraged by what we are seeing here in terms of numbers".

"There's lots of clubs in Norfolk, there's lots of courts being built and refurbished around the city of Norwich by the city council, who have got money from the Lawn Tennis Association. So it's in a healthy state"
