A teenage boy has been treated in hospital - after an assault in Norwich.

It happened in Queen’s Road, Norwich, close to the St Stephen’s roundabout, at about 3pm on Saturday (24 June 2023) when the victim – a teenage boy – was approached by two suspects.

He was punched to the ground and further assaulted as he lay on the floor.

His mobile phone was also stolen.

The victim was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with injuries to his head and stomach, and has since been discharged from hospital.

A boy in his late teens was arrested in connection with the robbery and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

He was later released on police bail while enquiries continue.

He has been further arrested, on suspicion of witness intimidation, in connection with the same incident.

Officers say they believe this was a targeted assault and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

They’re also keen to hear from anybody with information about the incident or anyone with dashcam footage.
