A Swaffham man has been jailed for six and a half years after being convicted of multiple sexual offences dating back almost a decde.

73 year old Derick Chapman, of Queen Street, admitted to three counts of sexual assault which happened between 2013 and last year.

He was sentenced at Norwich Crown Court on February 23

The offences involved a victim who managed to film one of the assaults, with the footage later used as evidence in court.

Chapman will be placed on the Sexual Offenders Register and has been issued with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Investigating officer DC Emma Fitzsimmonds said:

“I welcome the sentence which was passed at court today, and would like to commend the bravery of the victim in coming forward and putting an end to this despicable abuse.

"I hope this serves to encourage victims that Norfolk Police are committed to fully investigating every allegation and bringing perpetrators to justice.”
