The 71 year old was convicted of 13 different offences at Norwich Crown Court
A Swaffham man has been jailed for 10 years after being convicted of 13 difference offences involving children and young people, dating back over 50 years.
Kevin Britton, 71, of North Pickenham in Swaffham was convicted of included nine counts of indecent assault on a man aged 16 or over, three counts of indecent assault on a girl aged under 14 and attempted rape of a man aged 16 or over at Norwich Crown Court.
Three young people were targeted by Britten between 1971 and 2004.
In a statement to the court, one victim said: "It's taken me 25 years to speak, 25 years to work out who I am. Years of emotional distress, unable to process, understand or manage my own emotions."
Another victim said: "I have peace in knowing that I was believed, and that Kevin can't go on to abuse anyone again. I hope this case allows other victims to be able to have a voice and show that you don't have to suffer in silence."
Detective Inspector Duncan Woodhams, of Norfolk Police, said, “This sentence serves as a reminder that we will always support victims and investigate any report of sexual assault, no matter how recent or how long ago it occurred.
I hope that the victims can find some comfort in this result and I commend them for their bravery in coming forward and bringing Britton to justice.”
