A woman in her eighties is in hospital with life threatening injuries after she was robbed in her own home in Pakefield.

Officers believe it happened late on Friday evening, or early the following morning, when two masked men forced entry into her home, on Grayson Avenue.

They knocked her to the ground, and stole her handbag, which contained her purse, cash and keys.

Police were called before 2pm on Saturday, to reports the elderly woman had been lying on the floor.

She was found conscious, but had sustained injuries as a result of the incident.

She was taken to hospital for treatment where her condition is described as life threatening.

There is no description of the suspects at this time.

The stolen handbag is described as orange in colour with a silver link chain handle.

Police say they're keen to speak to any witnesses, anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area on Friday, or anyone living in the area with CCTV or doorbell cameras.
