A local domestic abuse charity says plans to speed up court delays must feature in new Government plans.

Ministers have so far confirmed that child abuse victims will feature in their violence against women and girls strategy.

"We need to have that trust and faith restored"

Rhys Lloyd is from Leeway- which works across Norfolk and Suffolk:

"We need to have that trust and faith restored that support is out there and that if somebody does come forwards to report to something that they will be listened to and taken seriously.

"With there also being strong and consistent action taken against perpetrators and those who do wrong.

"There also needs to be good funding commitments to support specialist organisations, because they are the ones that provide the support and backbone that helps so many women who are experiencing a range of violence or threatening behaviour".
